There’s always something unfolding in the heart of Melbourne/Naarm—screeching trams, chatter, rushing steps, electric crossings, sirens somewhere in the distance.

But on this walk, I didn’t hear any of it.
Or at least, I tried not to. 

With my headphones on and camera in hand, I listened to my own music—a faint city hum still managing to leak through.

With every step, I felt more like an observer than a participant—moving through the crowds, yet slightly apart from them.
